ARC Review: Disorderly Conduct by Tessa Bailey

I do not read NA books. I'm just not into millennial romance. My 20s was confusing, I'm still getting over the trauma and I try not to revisit it in my romance. However, I love Tessa Bailey so I'm willing to give anything by her a try and she did not disappoint.

This book is the first in the new Academy series by Bailey and I already know I'll be reading the other two books. This is Charlie and Ever's story. Charlie is in the police academy. He is convinced that he is destined to give his every waking hour to his job and that there will never be room in his life for a relationship. Therefore, Charlie has perfected the art of the spontaneous hook up. Charlie meets his match in Ever. Ever was taught to believe that there is nothing a woman can gain from a relationship with a man but heartbreak. Ever lives by a set of rules passed down by the women in her family that dictate that no hook up can go past 30 days. Ever purposely picks men who she thinks are somehow unavailable to insure that they won't try to stick around past the 30 days. Ever thinks Charlie is perfect because she knows how committed he is to his job. So together Charlie and Ever embark on a super hot month of hook ups. They agree to never talk about the past or the future and no cuddling. What could go wrong?

Well, Ever changes her mind and decides to give dating a serious try. Charlie doesn't think he can be the "dating" guy for Ever but he absolutely can't stay away from her. The idea of her being with another guy causes him to quite literally lose his mind and all sorts of hilarious hijinks ensues. This book is actually really funny and a lot of fun to read. There is a hilarious speed dating scene, a mishap with a fire alarm and a part y with a bunch of middle aged women that gets totally out of hand. Meanwhile Charlie and Ever are supposed to be just friends but there chemistry is just impossible to ignore.

Charlie and Ever have like super hot dirty chemistry that is just wild. They hold out for as long as they can but they keep "slipping up" and muddling the friendship. Charlie is hoping that he can convince Ever to go back to their hook up arrangement by showing her that there is nothing better for her. Ever is holding out hope that Charlie will change his mind about not being the dating type. Unfortunately, Charlie's strategy requires some deception. As amusing as it is for the reader to watch Charlie's maneuvers, Ever was less than amused when she found out what he had been up to.

It all works out in the end. This is a book with fantastic dialogue, great writing, a super entertaining plot and a compelling supporting cast of characters. If you like NA you will love this book . If you don't like NA, I still think you will really enjoy this book so give it a try.

ARC Review: Racer by Katy Evans

I was so excited when I found out that Katy Evans was writing a story for Racer, the son of Remy and Brooke from her Real series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I think for full enjoyment it would be best if you have at least read the first few books in the Real series about Remy and Brooke even though it isn't necessary. It was so much fun to see a few glimpses of them here (along with the rest of the gang), but also to get to see Racer all grown up and getting his own book.

In order to fulfill her dad's dreams, Alana sets out to find the best possible driver she can come up with for her family's Formula 1 team. When she comes across Racer, she is immediately drawn to him though she knows that street racing is different than Formula 1. She knows that he is her family's best chance, even if she also knows that staying away from him is going to be difficult. Especially when Racer will stop at nothing to prove how good he is both on and off the track. But while Racer wants her, he also knows that he could be the one to destroy her as well.

I loved these two. Racer was so like his dad, yet completely his own person. I loved that he wasn't afraid to go his own path and pursue his own dreams and passions. Racer was sexy and confident (a lot of the time cocky!) and it was impossible not to fall for him. He definitely inherited his dad's alpha personality as well as his diagnosis, and while I hated that he struggled with being bi-polar he had a great support system. I really loved how great Lana was once she found out. She never gave up on him and did her best to show him that he wasn't going to scare her away and that she could handle it. She was strong and likable, and perfect for him. These two had chemistry right away and I just enjoyed seeing them get to know one another after their instant connection.

Overall, this one was really good and I liked the characters a lot. There were a few cheesy moments here if I am honest, but they didn't stop me from loving it. As a fan of the Real series, I also appreciated some of the sweet and similar moments that paralleled Brooke and Remy here, it felt as though Katy Evans definitely brought everything full circle! Music was an important step in the bonding of Remy and Brooke, so it was really sweet to see Alana and Racer bonding over music in such a similar way. Definitely brought back all the feelings of when I first read Real. I think fans of the Real series are going to love this one, and those that are new to the series will as well. After meeting Alana's brothers here, I really hope Katy Evans might write some books for them as well. I loved being in the Real world again, yet getting to experience something new and different. This is one I enjoyed a lot and would recommend, especially for Katy Evans fans.

ARC Review: Still by Kennedy Ryan

Still is the conclusion to the Grip series by Kennedy Ryan. This book should only be read if you have already read Flow and Grip. Trust me, these are not standalones and you will want to start at the beginning to get every last bit of these characters. This series is one of my favorites, not only from Kennedy, but we are talking all time. It is sexy and sweet, emotional and heartbreaking at times. But honestly this journey has been one that I have adored and can't recommend enough.

Grip and Bristol are finally together and looking toward their future. But they know that just like their past, the road together will never be an easy one. They will have to fight for what they want, and if they want forever then they will have to do it together. When they are continually tested though, can they remember to let the other in?

Grip is seriously one of my favorite heroes ever. He is sexy and sweet, thoughtful and sentimental. His feelings run deep and he isn't afraid to show that to anyone. He is just one of those heroes that you want for yourself! He was captivating and his love for Bristol never ending and unshakable despite everything that they faced. Bristol was strong and loved Grip just as fiercely as he did her. These two were meant for one another, and their relationship and connection are truly one of a kind. They are special and the passion between them is unlike any I have read about before.

Kennedy Ryan has been a favorite author of mine since I first read a book of hers, and with each new book I read from her she just gets better. She is talented and has a way with words unlike any other. Her characters are deep and unique, and impossible not to fall for. This series though is on an entirely different level. Kennedy Ryan has tackled some very heavy and difficult subjects with grace and knowledge, allowing the reader to see things in ways they might not have before. Just like Bristol, I felt like there was so much that I didn't know or didn't understand, and while I know I never will fully, I feel like I have a better awareness now than I did before reading these books. This series is truly one that is not to be missed, and I know Grip and Bristol will stay with me forever.

ARC Review: Exes With Benefits by Nicole Williams

I honestly have mixed feelings about this book and it has taken me awhile to put my thoughts together. I usually try to write my reviews right after I finish a book, so that everything is fresh in my mind and my feelings are clear. But with this book I really didn't know how I felt so it took awhile to think on it, which is why I ended up rating this book 3 stars. Exes With Benefits by Nicole Williams had some things I really loved, but then there were things that I didn't and that left me feeling as though this one was just okay.

Maggie Church and Canaan Ford grew up together as friends and eventually it blossomed into more. When a surprise pregnancy right out of high school had them getting married, they both knew they were young and things quickly got bad as they started fighting. But Canaan was also broken from a tragedy that had occurred years before. Needing to escape, he turned to fighting and alcohol to numb himself and it got to the point that Maggie could no longer watch him self-destruct and left him behind. Now five years later a tragedy finally brings her home and she finds herself face to face with Canaan. She is ready to move on for good and wants a divorce, but Canaan isn't ready to let her go and bargains with a month to prove they belong together. But can he show her that he has changed and that they were always meant to be?

I absolutely loved Canaan. Of all the issues I had here, he wasn't one of them. He was sexy and sweet, and I loved his unwavering love and devotion to Maggie. No matter what happened, he never stopped loving her or wanted anyone else. It was so refreshing to see a hero that knew he had messed up and worked hard to overcome that and better himself, all while staying faithful to someone he wasn't sure would ever come back. I liked Maggie at times, but did have some issues with her. I understood her leaving and felt for all that she had gone through. I really did. But I didn't like that she started moving on, all while still married to him and never having resolved anything. I also struggled with how she acted at times, constantly throwing Canaan's past mistakes in his face. It was so obvious that he had changed, it wasn't just his words but also his actions. So I really hated that she continued to do it throughout the entire story. The chemistry and connection was clear, but I was ready for her to dump the boyfriend and get back to being with Canaan like she was supposed to be. Especially since she had no problem being physical with Canaan, even when she would try and talk herself out of it.

Overall, I just struggled with Maggie and how things went down a lot. I do understand the initial leaving and being strong for herself, but I didn't get how she handled things in the present. It just felt like she was kind of a hypocrite at times saying one thing and doing the opposite. I didn't like that she continued to punish Canaan for their past when it was obvious there was a reason for his actions, even if she didn't know them. I still liked this book and loved Canaan, but was left with mixed feelings mostly on Maggie. I think a lot of readers will enjoy this one, so if you are on the fence I recommend giving it a go. Canaan is amazing and definitely worth the read.

ARC Review: Rock Me by Carly Phillips

Carly Phillips is one of the first romance authors that I ever read, and years later I am still loving her books! I don't even read the blurbs anymore because I know I will enjoy the story. This cover though absolutely blew me away and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this story. It was fun and sexy and a great quick romance. I think readers are going to love this one!

Ben Hollander and Summer Michelle once met on the set of a reality show when she was trying to become the next big pop star and he was working security. They couldn't stay away from each other and it ended up breaking both their hearts when production found out and fired Ben for breaking the rules. He always thought that she was the one that told them and she always wondered why he wouldn't take her calls after it all went down, leading her to believe he felt less for her than she did. But now just as her career is about to take off, some starts targeting Summer and when a bodyguard is hired for her both Ben and Summer are shocked to find themselves face to face once again. The first time they were together they were both hurt, but can they possibly have a second chance to make things right and see just what they could have together?

I liked these two. They were sweet and sexy, and I loved that they had history together. They really felt as thought they complimented one another, with each one understanding and supporting the other. They had great chemistry and you could feel the attraction between them. I liked them a lot and loved seeing them get to know one another all over again.

Overall, this was a great quick read that had everything I have come to love and expect from Carly Phillips. While this wasn't my favorite books of hers, I enjoyed every bit of it and I am looking forward to reading more in this series. I love the way she set up the next book, and I can't wait to get to know Austin better. This is one that I liked from start to finish, and I recommend if you are a contemporary fan looking for something sexy and sweet.

ARC Review: Temporary by Sarina Bowen and Sarah Mayberry

I am a huge fan of Sarina Bowen, both on her own and her co-written books with Elle Kennedy. That being said, I have never read anything by Sarah Mayberry, so I was excited to see what her and Sarina's style would be like together with Temporary. While I liked this book, I didn't love it and I ended up feeling as though it lacked the spark that I am used to with anything having Sarina Bowen's name attached to it.

Grace works hard to support her sister since their mother is unable to, so when she lands a job helping to inventory an estate of a man from a rich and powerful family. What she never expects though is the attraction and connection she feels for Callan Walker, the man's nephew who wants her help in keeping his mother far away from everything to do with his uncle's estate. She knows that once everything is settled though that he will be back on his way home to Australia, and with her sister to think about, can she really afford the risk for something temporary?

I liked both Callan and Grace. I didn't really feel connected to them though. Things just felt surface deep here and I wasn't really invested in their story or relationship. They were attracted to one another and their connection seemed genuine, but there just wasn't anything that stood out as special to me and I pretty much forgot about them as soon as I set this one down.

Overall, this was a good quick read but in the end it was just okay for me. Things were definitely set up here for Callan's sister to get her own story, and I would be interested to read it and get to know her better. While I wasn't her biggest fan, she seemed to be on the right track at the end of this book. I just wish that I had been able to connect more with the characters here and that it hadn't felt like something was missing. While I do think that it was just okay, I think if you are looking for something quick and light to read you might give this one a shot. It was still good, just not great like I have come to expect from Sarina Bowen. I am hoping that if these two authors continue to write together that they will find their groove.
