Jennifer Estep Giveaway

So I came to the conclusion that I had to be honest with myself and stop hoarding books that I'm not going to read. Believe me, I would love to read both of these books but with all of the other books that I've had sitting around and now all of the review books I have, I know I won't be able to get to these books for quite awhile. So I figured I'd have a giveaway. So here's what's up for grabs:

Touch of Frost *signed by author*
Spider's Revenge *ARC copy*

So make sure to fill out the Rafflecopter form

Good Luck! =)

Follow Friday #10

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop put together by two hosts:  Parajunkee and Alison Can Read as a way to help bloggers become aware of other blogs and bloggers. It's a great way to make new blogger friends.

Q. It's that pesky magic book fairy again! She has another wish: What imaginary book world would you like to make a reality?

This is a hard question because there are just so many different books that I want to make a reality. My only issue is most of the books that I want to be real have a lot of scary baddies in them and I know I definitely don't want to encounter them. But if I could somehow escape meeting the bad guys and just see all the cool things then I would love for the world of Harry Potter to be real. I just think it would be awesome to be able to do magic.

My other choice would be the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. I sooo want to meet all of those sexy and fierce warriors!

Just follow these simple rules to join in on the fun:

  1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Host {Parajunkee Alison Can Read} and any one else you want to follow on the list.
  2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers- Librarian Mouse & Alaskan Book Cafe
  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing on Parajunkee's blog.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments
  5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers.
Thanks for stopping by. =)

Review: His Darkest Salvation by Juliana Stone

Oh. My. Goodness. All I can think to say is "wow," this book was just so freaking good. I honestly couldn't put it down. I stayed up all night reading it. From the first page, it was full of non-stop action. I just found myself continuously turning the page.

I just love both Jaden and Julian. They were just so right for each other. I will admit, I may have a slight girl crush on Jaden. She's just so kickass. She's strong, fierce, spunky and yet still vulnerable. She has a lot of issues with her family, mainly her father and it just broke my heart to see the pain he caused her. I also loved seeing how truly vulnerable she was with Julian. She may have put up this front that she's strong and doesn't need him, but inside she just wants him to accept her as his mate.

As for Julian, he has a lot of issues he's dealing with. First, he just spent six months in hell having pieces of his soul ripped away, and now he's back only to find out that he's been mated to Jaden DaCosta for the past three years. That is something that he doesn't even want to deal with. He's got way more important issues, but as much as he tries to put Jaden out of his mind he is finding that he can't. Julian is extremely attracted to her and thinks about their night they spent together frequently. Julian may be attracted to Jaden but nothing can ever come of it. First he's missing half of his soul and is on a mission to get it back. And secondly, and most important, Jaden is a DaCosta. The Castille's and the DaCosta are sworn enemies and Julian definitely doesn't trust Jaden, so what if they are mated? It's just one horrible cosmic joke.

I really enjoyed watching these two grow and learn to trust each other as the story progressed. There are just so many sparks between the two of them that the all of their scenes together just pop off of the page. I just loved watching the way these two are constantly sparring with each other and seeing their witty comebacks towards one another. I also enjoyed being able to see what was going on with the other Castille brothers. We were able to see what they have been up to since the last book left off.

We were also given more insight into both Declan and Ana and I honestly can't wait to see what happens with these two in Declan's book Wicked Road To Hell. I've been wanting to know more about these two ever since they were introduced in the first book and with the way this book left off I am definitely chomping at the bit to get my hands on it.

ARC Review: The Secrets of a Lady by Jenna Petersen

I have always been a big fan of Jenna Petersen's work and The Secrets of a Lady does not disappoint. This book was very reminiscent of Jenna's previous Lady Spy series which I just adored.

Audrey Jordan has always been in love with her brothers best friend Griffin Berenger. In attempt to forget her feelings for Griffin who has just married, Audrey decides to leave London and become a spy for the Crown with her brother. Now five years later, both Audrey and her brother are back in London working on a case to thwart an assassination attempt on the Prince and they need Griffin's help. Audrey and her brother have reason to suspect Griffin's neighbor of being part of the attempt and wish to be close to him so they can watch him. In an attempt to help both Audrey and her brother, Griffin opens up his London home to them both. Griffin, now a widower is still trying to get over all of the pain and regret from his marriage. He finds it hard to trust women, but finds himself battling feelings of desire for Audrey and wants nothing but to protect her from the case she is working on.

Audrey is not your typical English lady even before she became a spy. She is feisty and feels that she can take care of herself. I liked that she was also vulnerable and open about her thoughts and feelings. She also cares very deeply about the ones that she is close to.

With Griffin, even though he is slight grumpy at times it's totally understandable. We are able to see him battle the demons his late wife created in him. He has many issues with trust in the beginning of the book because of her and it's great to see him conquer them and become the man he was before her. He is very protective of Audrey and I loved it. Even if he wasn't aware of his feelings for Audrey, as the reader I was able to see them.

I really liked this book and I thoroughly enjoyed Griffin and Audrey together. I think they both balance each other out well and that the sparks between them were electric. I can't wait to see what's in-store for Audrey's brother Noah in the next book.

Review: Transported: Erotic Travel Tales by Sharazade

I just finished reading Transported and I have to say that it was just okay, nothing to write home about. If you want to read smut scenes without any substance than this book is for you. But if you are like me, and like your stories with a little more to them then just smut, you probably want to avoid this book.

Some of the stories in Transported were pretty good, while most just fell flat. They just felt like they were missing something and would leave off at awkward moments. To be honest, some of the stories were quite boring and I would find myself skipping over parts to get to the smut scenes. Don't get me wrong, I love a good smut scene but I just want and expect more.

All in all, Transported has the potential to be really good. With some tweaking and adjustments I know that Transported can be great.

ARC Review: Paying The Piper by Rachel Brimble

Paying the Piper started of okay for me, but after a few chapters it just became so monotonous. If I had to hear Grace whine one more time about how it was unfair of her father to sell her mothers bar I was going to shoot myself. Even when Grace found out the reasoning behind it (which in my opinion was valid) she continued to bitch and moan.

Then there is Jimmy, whom I didn't really understand. He seems to be really attracted to Grace and they start to have something and then he just pushes her aside as if she means nothing to him. It just seemed so out of character for what we had previously been shown of him.

My other peeve about this book is the coming together of Grace and Jimmy. From the get go, these two are pretty hot for each other and have some pretty racy thoughts. Then when they finally get together the author shows some pretty hot foreplay and then just cuts to the next scene without showing the actual "coming together." This is one of my biggest pet peeves when reading. If you are going to put everything else in, then why wouldn't you put in the sex scene? Leave out the rest then. It just feels as if it isn't flowing well when that happens.

All in all, this wasn't a horrible book despite the rating. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
